Patwell Consultants is based in Brooklyn, New York and first opened in 2008. We specialize in income
tax for individuals and small business, and also handle sales tax, bookkeeping, and business
startup filings.

Sean “Proper” McConnell
Managing Partner
A fortuitous meeting at a local bar brought Sean Proper and Pat Atwell together, and a partnership was born. Already an experienced bookkeeper, Pat mentored Sean in the finer points of tax preparation. A few years later, Pat retired and handed the reins over to Sean as Managing Partner, ushering Patwell Consultants into a new era.

After rising through the ranks of a nationally renowned tax preparation company, Pat realized he was better able to serve clients on his own terms. He formed Patwell Consultants in 2008 with the sole purpose of offering clients the comfort of personal service. He operated under this mission statement until his retirement. Sadly, Pat passed away in February 2022 and will be forever missed.
Pat first helped me with the personal taxes and then when I decided to start my business, he also assisted me with setting up my S Corp. I am really happy to be doing business with Patwell. It makes the business of dealing with taxes a lot easier.
